The certificate received for ordering a brick.
This is the brick found in Kitchen Kettle. It's by the popcorn kiosk the last time I checked. Mother and Maria were born in Vieques, thus PR. I was born in VI (St. Croix) and Elton in NY. Photo taken 10/27/2007
Group photo taken May 28, 2008. Photo taken a Riehls Quilts and crafts. Elton in green shirt, I am behind him. María on the extreme right, front row. The face you see behind the man with red shirt is Jane, the local guide, who explains things to us as we ride around the area. Photo taken by John, the tour director.

In honor of Mother. Kitchen Kettle. I think this one is close to the ice cream kiosk, which is next to the popcorn kiosk. Another brick was placed in another area with Ma's last name spelled as Nives or Neves. The photo above is the corrected brick. 12/01/2012

On October 8th, María and I decided to to to Lancaster, PA. The tour was listed in the L&M Brochure as "new", "A fun day in the Amish Country, Sunday Brunch at Yoder's and More".
The first stop of the tour was Yoder's Restaurant and Buffet (located in New Holland). We had never been to Yoder's before. After the buffet lunch, we were to visit the Intercourse Canning Company (a smaller version of the Jam and Relish Kitchen in Kitchen Kettle Village) and the Crackleberry Farm Antique Mall. However, since the Canning Company closed its doors after 20 years, we instead went to Mount Hope Wine Gallery (not the actual winery), located in Bird-in-Hand. There was wine tasting at Mount Hope. I bought a bottle of wine. Cackleberry Farm Antique Mall (located in Paradise) is massive and they carry an incredible amount of items for sale. Talk about bringing back memories!! No I did not purchase anything.
Too bad about the Intercourse Canning Company!! I had visited them at two sites.
Since it was Sunday, there was very little traffic in the area and many businesses were closed.
From Intercourse Canning Company's website: "We'll miss you so much. It has been an amazing 20 years encountering some of the most kindhearted people on the planet, walking through our doors, day in and day out. Countless folks have enjoyed coming to our original cannery, and then our newer retail-outlet on a regular basis for so long. Customers and team members alike have given us many warm memories which we will cherish forever.
Although this news brings a tremendous amount of sadness, it also brings optimism toward the future. The most difficult part will be not seeing the smiling faces of the special people that have made our endeavors possible for so long.
Intercourse Canning Company will live on in my mind and heart forever."

Family style dining Closed January 2022. Why? Covid. Many of the cooks did not return.
Again, the white home was the first place I ate. The structure on the left did not exist.
The dining room. Tables could accomodate up to 12 customers.
Elton and María enjoying the food. Mashed potatoes, fried chicken, pork meatloaf, roast beef, ham, butter noodles, coleslaw, corn/peas or sting beans, chicken salad, lemonade, iced tea, coffee, shoofly pie, apple pie or cherry pie, ice cream, etc.
At the family style tables one could eat everything desired but there was no doggy bag allowed. Wanted to take something out? Just ask the manager and pay for it.
