The first time I got on a plane was to visit my grandparents who were living on Vieques. I think that was 1965. The flight on a small 6-seater propeller plane was exciting! I took my next flight in 1969, from St. Croix to New York City. That was the first time I got on a jet. Quite a different experience from the 6-seater.
Some of the places I have visited are - Germany (Frankfurt), Spain (a two-week motor coach tour which included Portugal and Morocco). I have also flown to Canada (Toronto, with Henry), California (Los Angeles, San Francisco), Nevada (Las Vegas), Ohio (Dayton), Florida (Miami), Missouri, Texas (San Antonio), Georgia (Savanah, Atlanta), Virginia (Richmond), Maryland (Baltimore), D.C., and I also did a two week motor coach tour of some of the National Parks (Grand Canyon, Yellowstone, Zion, etc.), which took me to Arizona, Wyoming, South Dakota, Idaho, Montana, and Colorado). My first visit to the National Parks was in 1996. I visited the parks again in June 2013 with my sister, María.
Some of the Caribbean Islands I have flown to are - Haïti, the Dominican Republic, Puerto Rico, Vieques, St. Thomas, St. Maarten/St. Martin and St. Kitts.
On one-day bus tours (Domenico, Biss, Crosby, Wide World, Hines and L&M. Only Hines and L&M are still in business.), I have visited Pennsylvania (Philadelphia and Lancaster), Connecticut (New Haven, Mystic, etc.), Delaware, New Jersey (Camden, Atlantic City), Rhode Island (Charlestown, Newport), Albany, Washington, D.C. plus many others. I am listing these tours under NY, Pennsylvania and Other Places Visited.
My favorite non-USA cities? Toledo, Sevilla and Alicante in Spain. I felt at home in Sevilla and Alicante. Did I once walk the streets of these cities? Toledo is a beautiful walled city on top of a hill. In the USA, I enjoy the farms of Lancaster, PA. My favorite National Park? Bryce. The color of the stone formations is incredible. On one visit, I saw the formations coated in snow. Impressive!!
Some of the airlines I have flown no longer exist - Eastern, TWA (Trans World Airlines, though the pilot on an American Airlines flight once said that TWA stood for "Travel with American"), Trans-Caribbean (I was on the last flight out of St. Croix after the crash on St. Thomas. American then took over the route.) and Pan Am. Remember Caribair and Prinair in the Caribbean? I did not get the chance to fly on Caribair. Yes, I can hear you already, "I was not born when those airlines were flying!" Well, you missed out on some fun!!
