This is a tribute to the greatest female group -
The Supremes

The first line-up of the American vocal group, The Supremes, circa 1961 consisted of Mary Wilson (3/6/1944 to 2/8/2021, age 76), Florence Ballard 6/20/1943 to 2/22/76, age 32), Barbara Martin (6/16/1943 to 3/4/2020, age 76) and Diana Ross. In the early years, the group was called the Primettes. Barbara left the group to start a family just before the Supremes released their first album, "Meet The Supremes", in 1962. She was not on the cover, but her vocals were part of the recordings.

One day I decided to visit the Observatory at the World Trade Center. I think I was alone? I began to browse in the gift shop. I ran into this photo. I cannot recall what year I bought this photo but it was before the 9/11 disaster.

PURE SUPREMES ELEGANCE

On the back of the photo there is a label that reads, "215, Motown Museum, $5.00" plus a phone number.

Sexy photo.

This famous image of The Supremes, created by EULA, graced the posters advertising their historic October 15, 1965 concert at Lincoln's Center Philharmonic Hall. (In 1965, I was just beginning high school on St. Croix.)

This poster is framed and hanging in my living room since the 80s. I found it in a barrel of items on sale/clearance in a store on 5th Avenue in Manhattan.

I think I paid about $3.50 for it.

My friend, Norwin Simmons, got this photograph of Mary signed for me.

Do you see the "white" imprint to right of Mary's head? Look closely.

They were Mary's red lips. Over the years, the lips have disappeared.

Another signed photo of Mary. May she rest in peace!

Thanks Norwin!

Diana Ross

Photo looks crooked?

It is not the scanning/copying process I performed.

The actual photo is crooked!!

Motown Café on 57th Street

Norwin, a true fan!!

Norwin tattooed a symbol of The Supremes (3 heads on one body) on his arm and then had Mary sign it.

I think Mary looks great in this photo.
