On June 21st, we woke up to find the day cloudy, windy and cold. We took the Snake River Float trip (optional tour). You will see photos of the boat ride, the Grand Teton and the surrounding area. We headed to Yellowstone National Park after we left Jackson and the Grand Teton.
This page consists of the remaining photos on page 2013-D and all photos on pages E and F of the old site.

On June 21st, we headed to Yellowstone National Park. It began to get colder. We got rain and wet snow. Passengers began to get sick. Was it Norovirus? The Tour Director began sanitizing the bus and the passengers. We were told to drink lot of fluids and keep washing/sanitizing our hands. We were offered sanitizer every time we got on and off the bus. Since we chanted seat daily, María and I began sanitizing where we sat as an added precaution. From this point on, one or two passengers would get sick daily. Luckily, Maria and I did not get sick!! (We will later discover that other visitors in the park were also getting sick. At one point, we were not allowed to reach for plates/utensils nor food.)
In Yellowstone, our hotel room had no radio or TV. Cell phone reception was nil for most of the passengers. We stayed at the Grant Village for 2 nights.

The National Park Service closed all entrances to Yellowstone on June 13, 2022, after unprecedent amounts of rain and rapid snowmelt caused major flooding, rockslides and mudslides that littered the pristine landscape with debris.
The Northern portion of Yellowstone is likely to remain closed for a substantial length of time due to severe damage, which impacted the infrastructure.

We next visited the Continental Divide
June 2013
A display where we stopped at the Continental Divide showing the flow of the rivers
What is the Continental Divide?
The Continental Divide in America is the line that divides the flow of water between the Pacific and Atlantic Oceans. Rain or snow that drains on the east side of the continental divide flows toward the Atlantic Ocean while precipitation on the west side drains and flows toward the Pacific Ocean. (However, some rivers empty in the desert and don't end up in the oceans.)
The Continental Divide runs from northwestern Canada along the crest of the Rock mountains to New Mexico. Then, it follows the crest of Mexico's Sierra Madre Occidental. In South America, the Continental Divide lies along the Andes.
Every continent, except for Antarctica, has a Continental Divide.
